Running a business gave Oscar an understanding of how quickly unexpected events can affect a person’s livelihood and family. It also gave him a practical perspective on the transportation industry that remains part of the experience he brings to motor vehicle accident cases today.
Oscar eventually decided to pursue his goal of becoming an attorney. The journey required persistence, long hours, and significant sacrifice, but he remained committed to completing his legal education and building a practice centered on helping people through difficult moments in their lives.
The Road to Becoming an Attorney
Oscar attended the University of California, Riverside, where he studied biochemistry. During that time, he discovered his passion for law. However, the cost of attending law school made becoming an attorney feel like a distant dream.
After building and operating his trucking company, Oscar eventually decided that he would pursue that dream, regardless of how difficult the journey might be. Oscar attended Pacific Coast University School of Law while continuing to work full-time. He worked during the day and attended law school at night. Despite the demands on his schedule, he also helped classmates by organizing weekend study sessions and providing individual tutoring.
Oscar graduated at the top of his class as valedictorian. He then spent four months preparing for the California Bar Examination, beginning work early in the morning and studying late into the evening. His preparation paid off when he passed the California Bar Examination on his first attempt.
That journey required discipline, determination, and sacrifice. Those same qualities continue to shape how Oscar approaches his work and represents his clients today. Oscar Alexander Ischiu is an active member of the State Bar of California, Bar Number 342803.
